I have private medical insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please provide the details via email to breastclinic@drgaelmaclean.com when you confirm your requested appointment. It is important that you obtain authorisation from your insurer for any appointment before scheduling or attending an appointment as they may not agree to fund the appointment or any treatment required. Should there be an excess associated with your policy you will be responsible for settling the shortfall.
I would like to fund my care myself
The cost of a 20/30-minute consultation for a new patient is £250, subsequent follow up is £180 per consultation. Please note this is also the same for virtual (Video/telemed) consultations.
Ms MacLean offers a one stop breast clinic for patient’s who require assessment of their breast symptoms. This will include a consultation initially, Ms MacLean will then be able to advise if/which scans are required. The scans (Mammogram and/or Ultrasound) will be carried out on the same day. In some cases, patient’s symptoms may warrant a biopsy, which again will be carried out at the same appointment. The costs associated with such scans and further tests are determined by the hospital, however on enquiry, Lindsay will be able to inform you of any costs that you wish to know.
